MNRB TAKES MATTERS OF THE HEART SERIOUSLY

Kuala Lumpur, 27th March 2016 – MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) once again continued to implement health initiatives through its MNRB Group Health Week campaign to employees of MNRB Group to encourage them improve their overall health by focusing on their lifestyle behaviors such as increasing physical activity, improving eating habits and preventive health care.

The one-week campaign, held from 22nd – 30th March 2016, emphasises on the importance of preserving a work-life balance and educates employees on all aspects of health especially pertaining to the heart disease. The campaign comprises of free health screening packages such as blood pressure test, blood test for glucose and cholesterol levels, eye check-up, bone health check, breast examination, fitness and flexibility test as well as food demonstration & nutrition counselling. In addition, a Health Talk entitled “Prevention of the Heart Disease” was conducted by Dr. Akmal Hakim bin Arshad, Cardiology Clinical Specialist of the National Heart Institute (IJN) to educate employees on overall heart health, prevention of heart disease as well as early detection of heart disease.

In an effort to further encourage employees to adapt to a healthy lifestyle, MNRB has included its first ever MNRB Healthy Heart Run, to the campaign. The event took place at Perdana Botanical Garden, Kuala Lumpur and had attracted more than 300 employees and family members of the MNRB Group.

During the event, MNRB also presented RM25,000 to the Heart Foundation of Malaysia (YJM) to support the noble cause of the foundation in educating and enhancing overall awareness of heart health amongst Malaysians. The contribution was presented by Encik Mohd Din Merican, President & Group Chief Executive Officer of MNRB Holdings Berhad to Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Kamaruzzaman Bin Shariff, Vice President of YJM.
